I put both in envelopes and stowed them down at my parents' between the books on the shelf. Chat didn't get there for the time being and I could pretend tomorrow morning that they were in the mailbox.
Then I lay down and sank into my thoughts whether everything had been such a good idea... But I still had one night to sleep about it.

That was easier thought than done, especially now that Chat slipped under my blanket and snuggled in so deep that only his eyes could be seen. "It's really cold outside."
